Common Questions You May Ask the
Interviewer
Send your question
These questions are not universal. I would give you idea what can you ask
during the interview (at that solemn moment when you've been asked: "If you
have any question?") I would strongly recommend to listen carefully to the
interviewer and to write down the questions that may arise during his/her
monolog.
- When was this position opened?
- When would the position begin?
- What would your first assignment be?
- Is this a new position? If not, why is it vacant? (this will give you clue
if the company experience growth or leak of human resources)
- To whom you would report? Will you get an opportunity to meet that person?
- Could you describe the working environment?
- What is the size of the team (if applicable)?
- How many people work in the company?
- Who would I be working with?
- Would you show me around the premises? (has very positive impact since
demonstrate your interest in the company, usually accepted with enthusiasm)
- Can I call back in a few days to learn if you have reached a decision?
- When would you like me to start?
- What are your regular hours? What about overtime?
- Are there training or orientation programs? (be careful - employers may
accept this as a challenge since nobody wants to teach. Explain that you mean
possible future courses to improve your knowledge on permanently evolving
technology)
- Is there an employee handbook? (again, ask only if you don't have other
questions)
- Do you have any additional company literature that I may look over when I
leave?
- How many projects does the company have?
- Who are the major customers of the company's products?
- Is this a private or a public company?
- What are the travel requirements, if any?
- What are the chances for growth in the job?
- Who are the company competitors?
- How regularly do performance evaluations occur?
- How financially stable the company is?
Again, the best questions you may ask are those concrete questions you should
collect during interview. |
